Snow Event Service

At Iron Trident, our top priority is ensuring your business’s snow removal services are well underway—or ideally completed—by the time you open. However, the timing and condition of service are dependent on several important factors, which we’ve outlined below to help manage expectations.

Key Influencing Factors

Two major factors that impact the state of your property upon arrival are:

1) Time the snow event began and when the service trigger level was reached, and

2)The intensity and duration of the snowfall—whether the event has ended or is ongoing.

Cut-Off Times and Service Windows

As noted in your contract, we have a defined cut-off time 11pm by default, for overnight service. If snow begins after this time, our crews will rest, ensuring they are refreshed and ready to go the following evening / overnight.  If the trigger was hit overnight then your service begins as soon as your site becomes accessible often meaning staff and customer vehicles have left the premises leaving parking lots accessible to plow.

So What this means is, If you have requested your parking lot plowed before staff comes in or the business opens and the trigger was not hit by the cut off time the previous night then your site will be plowed between when it empties from staff and customers and before your requested plow time the following morning.

  Some examples –

Example 1)  Snow trigger is hit during the day and up to 11pm , then your property will be cleared overnight and be ready for your requested 6 or 7am deadline.

Example 2) Snow trigger is hit mid night or later, and you have a 7am deadline then your property will be plowed the over night the day of the event.

Example 3) Snow trigger is hit and there is no early morning plowing deadline, and plowing of the property is ok anytime then plowing will commence within 2-4 hours after the trigger is hit.

** One plow within 24 hours unless noted, more than that must be noted in the contract and extra fees will apply.

Snow Relocation & Hauling

  • Snow Pile Relocation typically takes place 1–2 days after a snow event. Delays can occur after heavy snowfall depending on snow volume and site logistics.

  • Snow Hauling follows similar timelines and may require additional time depending on the total accumulation.

Salting & Sanding

If you’ve requested salting or sanding services:

  • These are generally performed after snowfall has stopped completely.

  • Partial salting may be done during active events for safety, but full applications are avoided during ongoing snowfall to reduce inefficiencies and unnecessary costs.

  • Sanding is not performed if a full snow clearing event has been triggered and is ongoing as snow cover will negate its effectiveness.

If you have needs that do not suit the service outline above please let us know as we can alter our service but keep in mind if higher service response levels are needed it will effect your pricing. If you have any questions about your specific service level or upcoming weather response, feel free to reach out to our team. We’re here to keep your site safe, clear, and operational throughout the winter season.
